Joining Cedar Grove
Cedar Grove Baptist Church is a family of believers who have come together to follow Jesus Christ and to share His love throughout Anderson County and the entire world. Anyone who will be in agreement with our beliefs and mission may present themselves, during the “Invitation” time in a Worship Service, as a candidate (unless 18 or under) for membership in one of the following ways:
Profession of Faith:
When a person receives Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, thus becoming a Christian, they may request membership by baptism. If a person is already a Christian but has not been baptized by immersion, they may also request membership through baptism. People making these decisions respond by coming forward during the Invitation given by the Pastor at the end of the Worship Service.
Transfer of Letter:
If a Christian is a member of another Baptist Church, they may request membership by asking that we accept them into our fellowship on promise of letter confirming their membership in a sister church. People making this decision respond by coming forward during the Invitation given by the Pastor at the end of the Worship Service.
Statement of Faith and Previous Baptism:
If a person is already a Christian but not a member of a Baptist church, they may request membership by giving testimony of having received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and having been previously baptized as a believer by immersion in an evangelical church of like faith and order. People making this decision respond by coming forward during the Invitation given by the Pastor at the end of the Worship Service.
