Meet Our Church Staff
Pastor Billy was born and raised in Greenville, SC. He was saved at the age of 17. He describes this experience by saying, “Under heavy conviction by the Holy Spirit, I knelt beside my bed and asked Jesus to become my Lord and Savior… and He did!”
His wife, Donna, is from Easley. They have twin daughters (both of whom are married), Sara Carroll and Rebecca Hunter, and a son, Will. Will is currently a student at Powdersville High School.
Pastor Billy did his undergraduate studies at Anderson College (now Anderson University, SC) and Charleston Southern University (formerly Baptist College, Charleston, SC); he completed his graduate degree at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN; and he received his Doctorate of Ministry degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.
Pastor Billy enjoys reading and golf. He and his family have served churches in NC, Florida, Alabama and SC.
Rev. Tim Moon –Minister of Music/Students
Tim grew up in a Christian home, but, at age 11, realized he needed a personal relationship with God through Jesus. The Holy Spirit clearly spoke to his heart and mind during a series of regular worship services in his home church. He then accepted God’s offer of forgiveness and made Jesus, Lord of his life.
Pastor Tim has been serving Cedar Grove as Minister of Music and Students since February 2004. He is the main Worship Leader, Adult Choir Director and Director of our Student Ministries.
Tim has been married to his lovely wife Marie since 1991, and they have three children, Evan, Isaiah and Eli.
He is a graduate of Charleston Southern University where he earned a B.A. in church music/religion and a 2012 Graduate of Anderson University with a Master of Ministry degree.
Tim is an avid reader and enjoys working in the yard, Clemson football and spending time with his family. He spent many years serving in churches in North Carolina, Abbeville and Summerville, S.C.
Cynthia’s cousins invited her to Vacation Bible School where the Holy Spirit began a work in her heart. In December, 1976, she accepted the free gift of salvation and asked Jesus to be LORD of her life. She and her husband, Chris, have two daughters, Morgan, a student at Anderson University, and Carmen, a student at Clemson University, and one son, Patrick, a student at Palmetto High School.
Cynthia is continuing her education in computer science, and has served as the Ministry Assistant at Cedar Grove since August of 2014. Cynthia enjoys reading, cooking, singing, and thrift shopping. She has served in churches and Christian Schools across the county, and is currently web servant to many businesses and churches in our area, the Palmetto Baptist Association, and missionaries Richard and Beverly Felmey in Montrouis, Haiti.
Lethia grew up in a Christian home and has been in church all her life. At the age of 17, she accepted Christ. The Holy Spirit convicted her on Sunday morning and she went to talk to Pastor Mitch at Big Creek. She ask Jesus to come in her heart, February 11, 2001. She was very active in GA’s, Acteens, and taught 4 & 5 Year olds in Sunday School. She attended VBS at Cedar Grove.
She attended daycare at Cedar Grove from the ages of 5 until 11. She loved attending the daycare and learning about the love of Jesus. When she was 18, she started working at the daycare; she taught 4 year olds. She graduated from Palmetto High School in 2002. In the fall of 2002, she attended Tri-County Technical College studying Radio and Television Broadcasting; however, she sensed God was calling her to continue to work at the daycare while in college. She graduated from Tri-County in 2005. She graduated from Tri-County again in 2008, with a degree in Arts along with a certificate in Digital Productions. In the summer of 2008, she sensed God calling her to teach two year olds at Cedar Grove Child Education and Care. In 2010, she became the Assistant to the Directors. In 2013, she became the Co-Director. She became the Director in September 2014. She also teaches 4k and loves to tell children about how much Jesus loves them.
In her spare time, Lethia enjoys reading and spending time with her friends.
